Do I need to know anything technical?+
No. Virgil assumes you have never opened the Terminal in your life. Every instruction is one step at a time, in plain English, and you can paste any error or screenshot and Virgil will sort it out.
What do I need before I start?+
A Mac or Windows laptop or desktop. The free setup also needs a Claude account ($20/month, paid to Anthropic, not us). If you do not have one yet, Virgil walks you through creating it during setup. Virgil works with any AI account you already have.
How long does it take?+
Most people are installed and running their first command in under an hour. The full setup, where your agent completes a real task from your job, is a single afternoon.
What is an AI agent?+
An AI agent is software that does real tasks on your computer. Unlike a chatbot in a browser tab, it can actually open your files, build spreadsheets, draft documents, organize folders, and finish multi-step work on its own. Think of it as an employee that lives on your desktop.
Is it safe to have this on my computer?+
Yes. It runs locally, asks your permission before changing anything, and you can interrupt it at any time. On paid plans your files are not used to train models.
What if I get stuck?+
Take a screenshot and drop it into the chat. Virgil reads screenshots, diagnoses what went wrong, and gives you the exact fix. Errors are normal and expected, and Virgil handles them with you.
